This Virtual Reality Simulator Lets You Fly Like A Bird

“Time keeps on slipping into the future. I wanna fly like an eagle to the sea. Fly like an eagle, let my spirit carry me…” the Steve Miller Band wasn’t alone in their desire for flight as a new virtual reality or VR platform called Birdly is offering an experience like no other, fulfilling the dream of flight for its users.

The Swiss-made, German-engineered Birdly simulator by Somniacs AG immerses you over stunning skylines, iconic monuments, breathtaking landscapes, and even into reef dives, and a lush and exhilarating Jurassic world. Birdly’s content portfolio offers its users an array of experiences – from exploration, and relaxation to adrenaline. Its immersive technology offers an impactful interaction between Birdly’s hardware and software. It transports users and puts them in control of an immersive storyline and fully engrosses them in their virtual environments.

This is not your average fight stimulator, however, where you need a joystick, a mouse, or any buttons. Instead, Birdly operators are in control of their full-body VR flight experience instinctively using their arms and hands as you lay down in a comfortable face-first position. These movements are in synch with the flapping of wings, manipulating feathers for speed, altitude, and navigation.

Every response is replicated in the virtual flight processor and responds as physical feedback via “nick, roll and heave movements.” A head-mounted VR display enable users to be visually immersed in a high-resolution virtual landscape that involve interactive zones, social interactions, and entertaining surprises. This intuitive human-machine interface, called the

Birdly V2 Serial Edition, is unlike other VR platforms, as it’s not a solitary experience. Birdly’s is equipped with precise sensory-motor coupling that makes it even more realistic with its headwind simulation, 3D audio, and visual impact.

D3D Cinema can customize VR content production, including branded VR experiences for a wide variety of clientele in various industries, such as energy, insurance, aviation, football clubs, automobiles, etc. This stand-alone attraction is available across the globe in museums, aquariums, airports, tourist hotspots, and entertainment centers.

While operators can set the ride duration for the experience, three minutes seems to be ideal for flight. This allows for 15 riders per hour per unit. Fliers should be at least 7 or 8 years old and 48 inches tall. It’s really based on one’s wingspan, but height is a good indicator. The weight limit is 400 pounds, yet there is no age limit either – 90-year-olds have been known to have a blast experiencing Birdly! So, are you ready to take flight?
